PRECIOUS

Writing music helps me to find my inner voice and to understand who I am as a musician, as a mother, and who I am as a woman. I write songs to talk about my life, my loves, my struggles,
The joy and pain. They talk about self-acceptance, about love, all kinds of love. About being able to receive from life, to be open, and also to let things go. But hold on to what is so precious.

What Is there to say Liner Notes:

“Mr. Lightsey Mr. Hall and I have known each other (musically speaking) for two years. The first time we played together was in quartet, then we did some trio concerts. I was fascinated by the sound and the freedom this two musicians were able to express together and I thought that was something I wanted to dip into: a pure acoustic trio, where my voice could reach warm tones I’ve never reached and where I could experiment with a new way of phrasing and singing.”

I WALK A LITTLE FASTER

The album I WALK A LITTLE FASTER is named after one of the songs on its tracklist, the most significant and meaningful song for me.
It’s a song about hope and the will to dream despite everything, talks about fragility and strength, it’s a song that shows a sweetness and great determination at the same time.
I can see myself in it somehow, and I loved it from the very first moment.
The rhythmic session is with great musicians and great swingers such as Cyrus Chestnut on piano, John Webber on bass and Joe Farnsworth on drums, they support my singing with grace, delicacy and a strong sense of swing.

DUo+

Melody and bass lines, that’s it. The music becomes essential. Two voices are engaged in a continuous dialogue and blend perfectly, creating a unique performance, different each time.
The focus is on improvisation and interplay, so the music becomes essential and unpredictable.

Darryl Hall acoustic and electric bass
